Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

Review:

I'm really glad that I read this book. I immensely enjoyed this :')

I've been meaning to read this for soooo long, but I've been putting it off. whoops. I should have read this sooner.

First off, I thought Daemon was an asshat, but I found myself warming up to him near the end. I mean come on, he saved Katy like a kajillion times and he's super protective of her. It's super sweet. He's a big softie on the inside.

Second, I really like how Daemon and katy dont't really profess their love in this book, but rather, they took it slow and it was so cute... and awkward.

Speaking of awkwardness, Katy was so derp around him. And I could feel her embarrassment. I had to put down the book a few times and kinda just face palm

"I'm not even attracted to you."

It's okay katy, you don't have to hide it.
(just a side thought. Do you pronounce her name like Katie or Kat-y because i find myself using both. im weird)

Anyway, Katy is cool. She can be so unbearably awkward it's hilarious to read. I liked her though, she really made things interesting. And she's a book blogger. Which is actually really cool, but at first it weirded me out because you know, it's like us. But then I was like, you know what? Katy is awesome. she's one of us.

But she was reallllllly slow to figure out that things around Ketterman aren't exactly normal. I felt like she should have known that there was something strange going on with Daemon and Dee earlier.

I really liked the concept of the book though. Aliens. It's sorta like "I am Number Four" but the Luxen are made of light. So cool. It's interesting how they come in triplets. (cries because Dawson and Bethany)

Okay so when Simon and Katy go to the dance, I was praying that Daemon would swoop in and take her away from the douche-bagle. and he did yaay. I really didn't like Simon. *shudders*

and ugh. Andrew is such a jerk. I despise him. I have a feeling Ash will warm up to Katy though. Despite the whole lunch room scene:

Oh and when Daemon was about to get killed and Katy just went all ninja I was like: YEAH GO GIRL.

The connection between Daemon and Katy near the end reminded me of the connection between Alex and Seth in the Covenant series. It was really hard to imagine the the arch of light going into Katy from Dee's and Daemon's body and then just crazy light everywhere. That whole scene just confused me. WHAT IS HAPPENING. Is Katy special? I don't think any regular human could do that.

I'm super pumped to read the next book, I have so many unanswered questions. In conclusion, I really liked this novel, but it wasn't perfect. It was still fun to read, and i will most definitely finish the series :D
